Skype launches Wi-Fi Phone

Skype announced at CES the launch of a new product: a phone through which users can make free Internet calls but without the need of a computer. This new product is from a joint venture between Skype and networking major Netgear.

The pone can be use to make free call to other Skype users or low cost SkypeOut calls to anywhere in the world, totally computer-independente. Skype CEO, Niklas Zennström says that this is the first time it is possible to use Skype whitout a computer.

The product is focused on home user. To be used in enterprises (corporate voip), Skype things that the product need some improvements, like roaming over different Wi-Fi networks.
